The Spa
A thermal suite three floors below street level
Housed in a restored Victorian cistern: marble pool, sauna, herbal steam, ice fountain and a quiet reading room. Adults only; complimentary for hotel guests.
The thermal circuit
Four movements, ninety minutes
Our therapists suggest two full circuits before any treatment. Robes, slippers and linen are laid out in your cabin.

Warm
Fifteen minutes in the Finnish sauna at 85°C. The löyly ritual runs at quarter past every hour.

Steam
Ten minutes in the herbal room — eucalyptus, Kentish lavender and a good deal of quiet.

Cool
Twenty seconds in the 6°C plunge, or the ice fountain if you would rather ease into it.
04
Float
Twenty minutes in the vitality pool at 32°C, then the relaxation library and a pot of tea.
